How ClassBoard handles data

ClassBoard provides classroom workspace tools for teachers and students. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to users, schools, and workspace owners.

  • Account information such as name, email address, Google account identifier, and profile image.
  • Workspace information such as class structures, levels, groups, students, assignments, submissions, scores, annotations, and feedback.
  • Uploaded files submitted through the product, including handwritten work or supporting documents.
  • Technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, request logs, and security events.
  • Support information you send through contact forms or support messages.

3. How we use information

  • Provide, secure, and maintain ClassBoard.
  • Authenticate users and manage teacher, student, and admin access.
  • Store classroom content, assignments, submissions, grading data, and reports.
  • Respond to support requests and service messages.
  • Detect abuse, prevent fraud, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4. Student data

ClassBoard may process student information on behalf of teachers, schools, or workspace owners. Teachers and schools are responsible for making sure they have the required authority, notices, and consents before adding students or assigning work through ClassBoard.

5. Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information with service providers that help operate ClassBoard, such as hosting, storage, authentication, email, security, and support providers. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or during a business transfer.

6. Cookies and authentication

ClassBoard uses cookies and similar technologies for sign-in, session security, CSRF protection, preferences, and service operation. Some authentication is provided through Google Sign-In.

7. Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain security. Workspace owners may request deletion of workspace data, subject to legal and operational limits.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so users should protect account access and notify us about suspected unauthorized activity.

9. Your choices and rights
